On the serious recommendation of my doctor. He was already treating me for high blood pressure, then some lab work came back showing liver protein stuff and it was way off the charts. I asked him for some kind of meds or supplements to help and he referred me to Kaiser’s drug and alcohol people which I was like fuck that. I’m not dealing with those people and their classes and counseling shit. So! My wife went online and found a tele-health doc that specializes in this kind of thing and with some more lab work, she prescribed Campral, which has made this so easy. No cravings whatsoever.

I feel much better. Digestion is back to normal. I’m sleeping better and I haven’t had a hangover in over a month. That was a daily thing. I took the meds for a week while tapering off the drinks and then went cold turkey following a night of margaritas. I’m taking daily two mile walks as well. It sure is nice not thinking about drinking all the time. Drinking a beer in the truck in the way home from work when work is only seven minutes away. Always making sure I had enough on hand. Going back to the store half lit for more. Fuck all that. 56 is too old for that crap and after a solid 30 years of daily consumption, I’m done. I’ve kicked crank, the pills and now this. Shit, I still have beer and wine in the fridge and it doesn’t even call to me. Save that for guests. I have some very nice bottles from Napa as well. Have to pass those along.

Anyway, I wasn’t gonna say anything here until I was confident I had a grip on things.✌️
