A few months ago, I’m telling my good friend about a handful of books that completely changed my life for the better. Some great books about relationships and conflict. I’m explaining how the books have strengthened my bonds with everyone I know, especially my wife.My buddy says to me: “You see, that stuff works when you have a normal healthy wife, dude.” Essentially dismissing all the lessons under the impression that his wife truly is a special case. (She’s a sick liberal) I responded: “Based on the destructive behaviors your wife exhibits from what you have told me over the years, I’m willing to gamble that there is a text book out there can narrow down on her malfunction in great detail and also give insight on how to resolve it.”Anyway, I was right about both these guys. My friend is conflict avoidant. Another buddy advised me to look into ACA: Adult Children of Alcoholics, for which there is a laundry list of 14 behaviors exhibited by adult children of alcoholics. I found the list incredibly valuable as these behaviors are insidiously destructive. Conflict avoidance is one of them. This is exactly why he doesn’t have the courage to seek a better life for himself and get out of his dead end career. As for his wife, understanding she grew up with an abusive narcissist mother without a father figure in her life, she’s a para-narcissist with daddy issues. My friend should have left his wife during the many times he expressed to me that he wished he had never met her over the years. Instead, he had two kids with her.Sucks to be him. Oh well. Do I send him the laundry list and tell him to start deprogramming himself? He already knows about the jews.https://adultchildren.org/laundry-list/I like this list. It’s a good one. Some of the traits described me in high school but I had to learn to grow the fuck up. Maybe you know someone who might benefit from being aware of this sort of bullshit? And me? My problem? I’m an asshole.
