Topic title. Seriously, what the fuck is going on?

I’d almost think this place shared userbase with some of the more luddite infested subreddits if I didn’t know better. Aren’t people here supposed to be at least a little bit smarter than the average person? Or at the very least capable of a smidgeon of critical thought?

I get it, I suppose, to some degree. You’re scared. But that’s not a rational reaction.

The industrial revolution didn’t kill off 95% of the population from mass starvation–it transformed society in ways previously unimaginable, and ultimately raised the standard of living for the vast majority of humanity. Expect something very similar.
